Finished At Last !

Hurray !!!!!! At last i have finished these two granny blankets.

I made them for my two little granddaughters Mia and Darcey who hopefully will cherish them for years to come in the memory of their nanny Linda Wilks..

 I have personalised each one by cutting out a heart shape in ticking, then embroidered the names, using my sewing machine and finished off with a Suffolk Puff.

Here they are in their full glory drying in the sun.

 I was going to give the girls their blankets for Christmas, but like a child i couldn't wait. They are now on each of their beds looking lovely.....

My Unfinished Patchwork Quilt

Hi all you lovely bloggers out there, hope you are all well.!!!!
The nights are starting to pull in now and that Autumn chill is in the air, but i don't mind, i love the winter, it gives me a break from gardening to do more patchwork and other craft work.
  
  I started making this quilt a year ago at my patch work class. I am now on my 14th square and have another 6 to go before i can piece the quilt together. I have chosen a few of my favourite squares for you to see. When i have finished this friendship quilt it will fit my daughters double bed. Hopefully i aim to get it finished by Christmas.
 The patterns are from The New Sampler Quilt book recommended by Sonja my teacher.

Whoever would want to go abroad when we have such beautiful beaches right here in Essex!!.
These photos were taken by me while cycling along the sea front from Walton to Frinton. The weather was just perfect for my last beach holiday of the year......

My bargain crochet table cloth.

When i go to boot sales i am always on the look out for any handmade items or vintage fabrics. Well this Sunday i was lucky to find a cotton crochet table cloth.
 I always wash every thing and hang them out to dry to make them smell nice and fresh.
The round table cloth must have taken a very long time to crochet and is beautifully worked. And would you believe it i paid just 20p WHAT A BARGAIN.

I LOVE MY BOOTSALE BARGAIN AND VALUE THE TIME AND PATIENCE OF THE PERSON WHO SPENT SO MANY HOURS  CROCHETING IT.

These Sunflowers are happily growing in my garden. 

Crochet on a wet day in my caravan.

When i go away in my caravan i always take some craft work with me just in case the weather is bad. I don't really mind as there's nothing more relaxing than sitting in my caravan crafting away.

So as the weather was not so good on my last weekend away  i did some crocheting.
I wanted to do something a bit different from the granny blankets i am making so chose these spirals and roses from my old 60s Golden Hands books. Not sure what i am going to do with them, but i think they just look nice.

The cotton i used was Robin Pearle. Its very vintage as it came from my grans house when she passed  away.

  Crocheting on a wet day, but don't you think it looks nice and cosy in my caravan.

Painting on a hot day in East Runton Cromer

 Florence is just 1 year old so hopefully she will get to enjoy lots more caravan holidays.

 Tilly is 15 years old and still loves to come on holiday with us.

I can't think of any other way to enjoy my holiday in the caravan with hubby, the cat, the dog and my craft work.
