Feeling a bit Nautical

On a seaside trip to Mersea the other week i was inspired by the beach huts that sat along the waters edge of the Black-water estuary. Each one was painted in the most amazing soft pastel colours of the rainbow giving each one its individuality.

So with these images in mind i made these nautical hearts.
I used calico for the heart shape and scrapes for the images.

When i turned them up the other way i thought they looked like dumpy little dolls.

holiday snaps from Happisburgh Norfolk

Last week my husband and i went to Happisburgh -on-sea in Norfolk with the Suffolk Centre  Caravan Club.

We spent 3 nights at the Manor caravan park in our motor home standing in the shadow of the candy striped light house with glorious views over the sea and coastline.

We were very lucky with the weather enabling us to explore this rural village with its thatched cottages and long sandy beaches
Sadly with the storms of last year several houses in Happisburgh were pushed into the sea causing the residences to find other accommodation elsewhere .

As the weather was so hot i found it difficult to do my painting and sewing so just enjoyed walks along the beach and cliff tops with our two little terrier dogs.

During our walks we were amazed by the friendliness of the local people who put themselves out to come and talk to us and the dogs.

This was the first time we had visited this beautiful remote area and would certainly recommend.
