A very sad day

Today has been the saddest day of my life as my lovely dad passed away. He was 91 years old and died unexpectedly in hospital. He was taken into hospital on Friday after a fall, resulting in a broken hip. Over the weekend his health deteriorated  so much that he was unable to have the operation to repair his hip.

Not only was he my dad, but my best friend and the most kindest man you could ever wish to meet. He never complained and was always there for me when i needed a shoulder to cry on.
God Bless you dad . Love you lots and lots xxxxxxxxx

My Adults only Dolls House.

Hi all you lovely bloggers out there i hope all is well and that you are coping with this very wintry weather we are still having.

This week i have been doing a photo shoot of my dolls house. Its built in Georgian style, has 4 rooms and two loft rooms, the furniture and bric-a-brac i have added over the years since my hubby bought it for me for my 50th birthday. This is why i only let my grand children look at it and not touch.

As a child i was never lucky enough to own a dolls house and can remember playing with a neighbours one. which was great fun. That was a very long time ago, but what lovely memories.
This hobby is ongoing i am always on the look out for small things to go in it.
Please take a peep into my miniature world of fantasy.

Scouts Rummage 2013

Hi everyone.  Hope you are all keeping well and free from all these nasty bugs that are going around at the moment. I have been lucky so far to have missed them. Perhaps its all those multi vitamins i take every day that are keeping them away!!!!!

Its been very cold here today in Essex and looks like there may be some more snow on the way, but it didn't stop me venturing out to the annual scouts rummage in Wickham Bishops on the look out for that one special thing......

I really look forward to this day as you never know what you might find.
As usual it was very crowded, especially in the bric a brac tent where the tables were piled high with all sorts of junk imaginable. And amongst all the junk i managed to find a few things that caught my eye.
So here they are...............

I love to buy little things that intrigue me like these two tiny lead soldiers and these very old treen curtain pulls including the lead weights. I have unscrewed one to show you the lead inside.

What a find this was .. A lustre ware teapot which i was told is very collectible.

This tiny child's mug caught my eye. I love any china with nursery rhymes on.

As always i like to buy pictures of Maldon  by local artists.  The church on the left is where i was christened.

I found this celery jar quite amusing especially those SAD eyes. They remind me of somebody that i used to know!!!!!
Pink is my favourite colour so i just had to have this beautiful pink plate.

I find rummages sales so therapeutic........
