Holiday Homework

On my last U3A Patchwork monthly meeting back in July (the group packed up for the summer holidays) we were all given a hand out which was to make a bag out of 5 inch squares of either denim or a similar strong fabric. The finished bag is to be presented at our next meeting in October.

For my bag I chosen some linen curtain material from a sample book . I used some white sheeting for the lining which was stitched in the same way as the bag.
A nice way to use those odd scraps of material up don't you think ?.

The camera doesn't lie.

On a resent holiday to Cromer Carnival week in late August i took some photos of an air display . Usually its the Red Arrows but this year it was an acrobatic team .

I love taking photos of these daring displays and usually get some great shots. In fact when i down loaded these photo onto my computer i couldn't believe my eyes .

Take note of the two planes on the left hand corner . They look like they are touching each other. I must admit at the time of taking this i thought they were going to hit. I actually closed my eyes

Now see how close they were as they are pulling away from each other.

Here are some of their other amazing stunts.

An unexpected gift

As i had an abundance of apples and pears  in my garden this year i thought it would be good to share some around to friends and family.

My daughter took some of these to her boyfriends mum and nan who were very pleased with my generosity. In fact they were so pleased that Annette the mum gave me these lovely Christmas decorations which she had lovingly made herself.

Not bad for a few apples don't you think?

Can't wait now for Christmas to come so i can hang them on my tree
