On a seaside trip to Mersea the other week i was inspired by the beach huts that sat along the waters edge of the Black-water estuary. Each one was painted in the most amazing soft pastel colours of the rainbow giving each one its individuality.
So with these images in mind i made these nautical hearts. I used calico for the heart shape and scrapes for the images.
When i turned them up the other way i thought they looked like dumpy little dolls.
Love, love, love!! I have been to Mersea a couple of times this year and no wonder you were inspired to make these, it is that kind of place. I spent the weekend visiting Open Studios and it will be in my diary next year too.
